dive team

The Fairfield Police Dive Team strives to be prepared for any underwater emergency or investigation in, but not limited to the waters of Fairfield and Long Island Sound. The Dive Team strives to maintain a training program that targets the interests of public safety, diver safety, and thorough underwater investigation. The Dive Team strives to be an example to the public on issues of drowning prevention.

The Fairfield Police Dive Team is staffed by 4 Police Officers. The Dive Team is available 24 hours a day. The divers are trained to various levels of certification . All of the members are trained in Ice Diving, due to the areas cold winter climate. The Dive Team is capable of SCUBA (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) or SAS (Surface Air Supply) diving. To keep their skills sharp, the divers are encouraged to dive frequently off duty and some divers work in the commercial diving industry.

The members of the Fairfield Police Dive Team would like to send their best wishes to our instructor and friend Officer Kyle Keenan, who has moved on to another career in law enforcement. Without Officer Keenan's vision and energy this dive team may not be in existence today. He will be missed. Best of Luck!!!
