Lifesaving Award – Officer Young

During the meeting of the Board of Police Commissioners on September 11, 2019, Officer Justin Young was recognized for the following:

On February 19, 2019, Officer Young responded to a home on Burr Street for the report of a woman who had collapsed onto the kitchen floor and was unconscious. On arrival, Officer Young discovered that the woman’s face was turning blue. Officer Young determined that she was not breathing and did not have a pulse. He immediately initiated CPR.  Fire Department and AMR Ambulance personnel later assisted him with lifesaving efforts. By the time the woman was transported to the hospital, paramedics reported that she had a strong pulse.

Officer Young was the initial first responder on scene and took swift critical action that was crucial to saving the life of a member of our community.

Officer Young has brought great credit upon himself, our profession and the Fairfield Police Department. He is most deserving of the Lifesaving Award.
