Burglary Suspect Arrested After Overnight Attempt to Enter Occupied Home

FAIRFIELD — On 2/22/21 at 11:30 PM police responded to a residence in the 500 block of Black Rock Turnpike for an intruder complaint reported by the homeowner. The intruder attempted to enter the home by turning the exterior door handles to the residence.  The intruder fled the scene before police arrival, however the incident was captured on the homeowner’s video surveillance system, which was provided to police. Detectives canvased the neighborhood and identified Lance Tennyson Jr. (24) of Fairfield as the suspect. When Tennyson Jr. was interviewed by Detectives, he admitted to being the individual captured on video surveillance trying to enter the residence, telling Detectives he was attempting to recover a missing package that had reportedly been delivered. The  investigation revealed there was no validity to Tennyson Jr.’s claim.

This incident occurred during the overnight hours while the residence was occupied.

Tennyson Jr. was subsequently arrested and charged with for Attempted Burglary in First Degree and held on a $100,000 bond.
