The Fairfield Police Department is happy to announce the reemergence of the Child Safety Seat Program! The Fairfield Police Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will start conducting Child safety seat installations/inspections for the Fairfield Community beginning on Saturday, January 30th, 2016 at police headquarters located at 100 Reef Road from 09:00 AM till 1:00 PM.
The Fairfield Police Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will demonstrate and explain to caregivers about the proper selection, installation, and use of car seats, booster seats and proper use of seatbelts.
Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children 1 to 13 years old. Many times deaths and injuries can be prevented by proper use of car seats, boosters, and seat belts. According to Connecticut State Law, all children are required to ride in an approved child safety seat until they are 7 years old and 60 lbs.
The Police Department reminds all citizens that properly restraining their children while riding in vehicles is an everyday, year-round responsibility.
