Forgery Arrest Made at People’s United Bank – 1/28/2021

On 01/28/2021 at 11:06 am police responded to People’s United Bank (1055 Post Road) after the bank manager reported a suspect was attempting to cash a fraudulent check at the bank’s drive thru window.

Police identified the suspect as Carolyn Cook (55) of Bridgeport. Cook was charged with Forgery 3rd degree and Criminal Attempt to Commit Larceny 4th degree.  Cook allegedly attempted to cash a check she had forged in the amount of $1,475.86 at the People’s United Bank without the account holder’s authorization.

Cook was released on a promise to appear in court on 2/16/2021.
