Increased Police Presence at Fairfield Schools, Friday, December 17, 2021

The Fairfield Police Department is aware of posts on social media platforms such as TikTok regarding threats towards schools on Friday, December 17th.

There are no specific threats against any schools in Connecticut, including Fairfield, at this time.  The social media threats have been deemed not credible and are circulating nationwide.

However, given the worries that these types of threats naturally evoke, the Fairfield Police Department will increase its presence at schools in Fairfield tomorrow.  In addition, we are closely monitoring social media.

Chief Kalamaras has been in communication with Superintendent Cummings and First Selectwoman Kupchick to ensure any concerns are addressed and that our students, staff and residents are safe.

The Fairfield Police Department would like to stress once again that there is no evidence of any credible threats at this time.
