Suspect Arrested in Identity Theft Investigation

FAIRFIELD – On 3/17/2021 Randy Graterol (32) of Norwalk was arrested on a Superior Court Arrest warrant charging him with Identity Theft 3rd Degree and Illegal Use of Payment Card. Graterol was released after posting 10% of a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on 3/31/21.

The charges stem from a September 2019 investigation in which investigators discovered Graterol illegally used a credit card of a Michigan women to pay $4689.00 for car repairs to his vehicle at a Fairfield car dealership. The Michigan women called the dealership about the fraudulent transaction after being notified by her bank, which generated a police investigation.

Graterol has since made restitution to Mercedes.
