FAIRFIELD – On 3/14/21 at 4:52am, Fairfield Police responded to a Barlow Road home after the homeowner reported her Ring floodlight camera captured two males in dark clothes walking by her garage. The homeowner reported the two males were last seen running toward Winton Road.
Upon police arrival on Winton Road they observed a vehicles dome light activated in the driveway of a Winton Road home. A check with the vehicle’s owner revealed the car was entered and its compartments were rummaged through. Stolen from the vehicle was a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. The vehicle owner on Winton also provided police with video from his home surveillance system.
While investigating the incident, police observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Round Hill Road at a high rate of speed and turn right onto Barlow Road. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and both occupants positively matched the males on the video. They were identified as Fernando Cazares and Isaac Gaon. Found inside their vehicle were several sunglasses, pocket flashlights and other various items commonly stolen during car burglaries. One of the pair of sunglasses were the Maui Jim taken from the Winton Road vehicle.
Fernando Cazares (38) and Isaac Gaon (50) of New York, were arrested and charged with Burglary in the Third Degree, Criminal Trespassing in the Second Degree, and Larceny in the Sixth Degree.
They were both released on $1,000 cash bonds and are scheduled to appear at Bridgeport Superior Court on March 26th, 2021 at 0900 hrs.
