Assault, Southport Train Station

On February 11, 2019 the Fairfield Police Department responded to an assault at 96 Station St., Southport. The victim, an employee of Paci Restaurant, reported that she was taking the garbage out to the dumpster when she was grabbed from behind. During her struggle to try to get away from the unknown male, he struck her several times in the face and then stabbed her with an unknown object in the abdomen. The suspect then fled the scene westbound towards the parking lot. A K9 track from the scene yielded no results. The victim is currently in stable condition.

The suspect was described by the victim as a tall white male wearing a black hat, a scarf, and a black jacket. The victim did not recognize the suspect as someone she knew. Detectives are currently gathering surveillance footage from the area and interviewing possible witnesses to the crime.
