On 03/06/2020, a victim walked into Fairfield Police Headquarters alleging that she had been a victim of a domestic assault.
After further investigation it was determined that on 03/05/2020, the victim was allegedly in a verbal argument with Charles Toth. At the same time, there was a protective order in place protecting the victim from Toth. The victim told investigators that Toth tried to get her to go for a walk in the woods. When the victim refused, Toth allegedly wrapped the sleeves of a sweatshirt around the victim’s neck and pulled, until she went unconscious. The victim also reported that Toth threatened her during this encounter.
On 03/09/2020 officers submitted an arrest warrant affidavit for Charles Jarrett Toth (DOB 03/26/2000), which was signed by a Superior Court Judge who found probable cause to believe that Toth committed the crimes submitted in the warrant.
On 03/10/2020 Charles Jarrett Toth (DOB 03/26/2000) of Fairfield, turned himself in to Fairfield Police. He was charged with Violation of Protective Order, Strangulation First Degree, Unlawful Restraint First Degree, Threatening Second Degree and Disorderly Conduct. Toth was held on a court-ordered $500,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on 03/10/2020.
