On 10/12/2019 at 12:15am a homeowner on Old Oaks Rd. reported that a white male tried to open his garage and walked around his property. Surveillance video showed a white male wearing a baseball hat and a hoodie with a graphic on the front. Officers searched the area, but he was not located at that time.
At 04:38am Fairfield Police received a second call for a burglary to a garage at 52 Algonquin Rd. The suspect fit the description of the burglary attempt at Old Oaks Rd. This time the suspect was able to remove a pane of plexiglass to gain entry into the garage. The house at Algonquin Rd. also had surveillance, which revealed a suspect with the same description and clothing as the suspect from Old Oaks Rd.
As Officers responded to the area, Officer Quiles located Michael Targouski, walking on Brooklawn Avenue near Algonquin Rd. It was determined that Targouski was allegedly the same male seen on the surveillance video from both Old Oaks Rd. and Algonquin Rd. Targouski later admitted to both the burglary and the burglary attempt.
Michael J. Targouski, 10/8/73, of Knapps Hwy in Fairfield, was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary Third for the Old Oaks burglary attempt and Burglary Third for making entry to the garage at the house on Algonquin Rd. Targouski was held on a total of $25,000. Bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on October 23rd 2019 at 9:30am.
