During the months of October and November 2019, members of the Fairfield Police Department conducted an extensive Identity Theft investigation. As a result of that investigation, Tajh Wiley was developed as a suspect, and an Arrest Warrant was applied for, and issued for Wiley, charging him with various counts of Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft, Criminal Attempt to Commit Identity Theft, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 3rd, Criminal Attempt to Commit Larceny 3rd, and Illegal Trafficking in Personal Information. In addition, a Search and Seizure Warrant was applied for, and issued to search Wiley’s residence for additional evidence related to the investigation.
On November 6th 2019 a Bridgeport Superior Court Judge signed the arrest warrant for Tajh Wiley. A $150,000.00 court set bond was placed on the warrant.
On November 7th 2019 at approximately 8:30pm members of the Fairfield Police Emergency Services Unit executed a Search and Seizure Warrant at a residence on Edward Street regarding financial crimes. Tajh Wiley (DOB 12-08-95) was inside his residence and ultimately taken into custody without incident. He was charged as follows on an arrest warrant:
- 53a-48-53a-124 Conspiracy to Larceny 3rd Degree
- 53a-49-53a-124 Criminal Attempt to Larceny 3rd Degree
- (3 counts) 53a-48-53a-129d Conspiracy to ID Theft 3rd Degree
- 53a-129e Trafficking of Personal ID Information
- (3 counts) 53a-49-53a-129d Criminal Attempt to ID Theft 3rd Degree
He was held on a $150,000 court set bond.
In addition to the arrest warrant charges, Tajh E. Wiley, DOB 12/08/1995, of Edward Street, Fairfield, CT was arrested and charged with four (4) counts of Criminal Impersonation, and four (4) counts of Forgery 3rd Degree.
After executing a Search and Seizure Warrant at 26 Edward Street, four (4) fraudulent CT Driver’s License’s, all which contained a picture of Wiley, a fake name, and a forged signature, were found in Wiley’s bedroom dresser drawer. Wiley’s bond was set at $5,000 for these additional charges, and he is summoned to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on November 19th 2019 for all charges.
He was unable to post bond and he was transferred to court on November 8th 2019.
