Arrest Made in Thefts from Vehicles, 5/24/16

On May 24, 2016 at approximately 5:40 AM, an alert Penfield Road resident observed two males in a driveway, entering a vehicle owned by the homeowner.  Responding officers located two males matching the description, and carrying bags, walking on Penfield Road. One suspect fled on foot, while the other subject was detained. The fleeing subject was located hiding in a garbage can in the rear of the YMCA on the Old Post Road.

Investigation revealed the two subjects were responsible for entering at least 20 vehicles during the early morning hours, from the general area of Penfield Road in Fairfield.

Numerous pieces of property were recovered during the investigation. The estimated total value of the stolen property is $2,500.00. This includes $226.00 in cash and $172.00 in loose change.

Tymel Luke Thompson, age 22, was arrested and charged with Burglary 3rd, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary 3rd, Larceny 4th, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 4th, and Possession of Burglary Tools.

Carlos Juan Ortiz, age 26, was arrested and charged with Burglary 3rd, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary 3rd, Larceny 4th, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 4th, and Possession of Burglary Tools.

Both subjects were held on $25,000 bond and arraigned this morning in Bridgeport Superior Court.
