Car Seat Safety & Installation

Page Header Here

About the Program

Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children 1 to 13 years old.  These deaths and injuries can often be prevented by proper use of car seats, boosters and seat belts. According to Connecticut State Law, all children are required to ride in an approved child safety seat until they are 7 years old and 60 lbs. Proper selection, installation and use of car seats, booster seats and proper use of seat belts are critical!

The Fairfield Police Department reminds all citizens that properly restraining their children while riding in vehicles is an everyday, year-round responsibility.
